After having bought my Kindle, I’ve been scouting around for a suitable cover for my precious device. It didn’t take me long to decide which cover would make a perfect match.
Oberon Design make some of the most beautiful Kindle covers I’ve seen so far, but is that all that’s important when choosing a good cover?
Let’s not judge a cover just by it’s cover. The things that I’d look out for when deciding on my Kindle cover are:
Oberon’s then does not fit these requirements. Considering it’s price tag of USD69, it secures the Kindle poorly with elastic bands. Though I cannot tell for sure, but it appears that their covers are not able to fold to the back, which will make for cumbersome one-handed reading. When closed, their covers are secured using a rubber band. Can you imagine that dangling rubber band while reading? How annoying.
Most other covers fail to meet these requirements. All, except one – the ones built by Amazon themselves. They’ve done a superb job with their leather covers. They’ve thought of every detail and I just love how the device secures to the case without any obstruction to the Kindle itself. See it for yourself.
Now that’s how to make a cover.
This is the bike that got me started on cycling again after so many years. Two of my students had this insane idea of cycling around the island and I was crazy enough to join them. So I bought an entry-level mountain bike and set off. The freedom of cycling on the roads of Singapore soon led me to get a road bike and subsequently to learn to ride a motorcycle.
